1000 Love and Sex Quiz was written by Anil Aggrawal in 1992, when Rupa approached him to write a book of popular appeal in their successful "1000 quiz series". His first book 1000 Crime Quiz had proved successful, and they wanted him to write a kind of sequel on love and sex. The challenge was to devise 1000 interesting and informative questions related to love and sex. .

This was the first Indian humor book on sex, which at the same time aimed to educate and inform the general public too. The answers were explanatory, which not only tended to tell the answer, but give additional information.
