In near future, new city trains will be ordered in total costs of 240 million euros. Belgrade suburban railway system connects suburbs and nearby cities to the west, north and south of the city. The line from Nova Pazova on the western side of Belgrade to Mladenovac which is south of the city is over 70km long.

Most stations are not underground, though. The four stations that are built underground are located in the city center. Future developmentsConstruction work on a light-rail system in the city is scheduled to commence in 2008 and it would probably last at least seven years [1]. The light rail systems will connect with Beovoz at Vukov Spomenik underground station. The sum approved by the city government for the works on the first line is said to be about $450,000,000. The new line should connect Zemun on the north-west and Konjarnik on the south-east of the city central zone.
