The Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball League) is the main basketball league in Brazil. The championship is organized by the Brazilian confederation, CBB. During the 2005-6 season, the tournament was canceled due to dispute with the NLB ("Nossa Liga de Basquete") led by former player Oscar Schmidt.

The championship has organization problems, and in 2004 begun being calling "Liga do Busão" ("bus league"), because of the transportation by bus, since the CBB wouldn't pay the transportation and airplanes are expensive.

The Taça Brasil de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Cup) was contested from 1965 to 1989, and was then replaced by the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Championship).
