The Liberty Times (traditional Chinese: 自由時報; pinyin: Zìyóu Shíbào; Wade-Giles: Chì-yóu Shíh-pào) is a newspaper published in Taiwan in Traditional Chinese. It is one of the four major newspapers in Taiwan, the other three being the Apple Daily, China Times and United Daily News.[1]

In contrast to the China Times and the United Daily News that are widely regarded as taking an editorial line that leans heavily toward the China-friendly Pan-Blue Coalition, the Liberty Times is considered to be neutral and probably the only objective mainstream newspaper in Taiwan.[2]

Ownership

The Liberty Times, founded by Lin Rong-san, is published by the Liberty Times Group, which also publishes the English language newspaper the Taipei Times.
