As of 2001[update] India census[2], Manapparai had a population of 35,644. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%.In Manapparai, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. Manapparai is famous for it's Murukku and Cow Selling.

Recently Manaparai announced for Legistative Assembly Constituency Head quarters.Previously It was with Kulithalai Constituency.And this Assembly Constituency is part of the Karur Lok sabha Constituency.

This temple is one of the famous temple in trichirappalli District.This temple was most ancient temple nearly 200 years.The festivel of the temple is conducted during May month of the year and the festival called as "Chitthirai thiruvila".In this festival,Carrying of milk pot by arround 15000 devotees almost 2km by walk and finally to the temple is essential of this festival.
