Reception

Saathiya was well received by critics. The film's realism and A.R Rahman's music were considered the highlights. a.R.rahman rewamped the same tunes which he used in the original version. Alaipayuthey, which were great chartbusters. However it was thought to be inferior to the tamil original directed by Mani Ratnam.[1]
