Sarah Wynter (born February 15, 1973[1]) is an Australian actress, most widely known for her roles on American television – such as Kate Warner on the television drama 24 and as Beth on Windfall.[2]
BiographyCareerWynter's interest in acting led her to move to New York City when she was seventeen to study drama.[1] Wynter earned her SAG card by landing a role on the Sex and the City pilot,[3] playing what she later summarized as the first woman to have sex on that show.[3] A few years later she was recognized by SAG again, as part of the cast of 24 when it earned a SAG Award nomination as Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.[2] Wynter also appeared in The 6th Day and Lost Souls, and had a recurring role in The Dead Zone.[2] her Australian feature film debut, Three Dollars, was released in 2005.[4] She has recently been cast as Daisy Adair in the new, straight-to-DVD movie version of Showtime TV series Dead Like Me. Wynter has appeared on a 2003 issue of Maxim Magazine. She was ranked #81 in Stuff (2002 edition) magazine's "102 Sexiest Women In The World." Personal lifeWynter was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, the daughter of Helen Williams, a worker in the Australian federal judicial system, and Stuart Wynter, a physician.[5][1] Her grandmother, the late Joy Cummings, was the Lord Mayor of Newcastle - Australia's first female Lord Mayor. On August 20, 2005 Wynter married Details magazine editor-in-chief Dan Peres in Sydney.[6] Wynter's first child, Oscar Dallas Wynter Peres, was born on January 14, 2008. She underwent LASIK surgery in New York City, calling it "one of the best things I have ever done in my life."[7] Wynter commented on the 2004 U.S. presidential election in an interview in Australia held soon after the results were announced: "I think we are on a fast track to hell with the current administration. Bush is a religious fanatic."[8] References
