Syntegra is a bogie developed by Siemens which combines combines traction and braking technology to form a unified mechatronic system.[1] It is a simple gearless three-phase drive system that is up to 30 percent lighter than present-day metro bogies.[2] On 13 August 2008 the bogies began running in passenger service in Munich U-Bahn.
