WGUY (102.1 FM, "Oldies 102.1") is a radio station broadcasting a Oldies format. Licensed to Dexter, Maine, USA, the station serves the Bangor area. The station is currently owned by Blueberry Broadcasting) and features programing from Premiere Radio Networks and Jones Radio Network.[1]
Programming and History
WGUY was originally a daytimer on 1250 AM, co-owned with WEMT-TV (Present day WVII, Bangor's ABC affiliate). WGUY AM would move to 1200 in the 1980s and WGUY-FM went on the air in 1979, and moving from 100.9 to 100.3 in 1987 (Currently WKIT-FM). In the early 1990s 102.1 went on air air as WGUY, with an oldies format. However in December 2001 the station changed to a satellite smooth jazz format, only to revert back to the oldies format in March 2003 and in September 2008 began simulcasting on co-owned WFZX. The station currently carried University of Maine men's and women's basketball, as well as updates from Fox News Radio.
